Any other housing organizations claiming to be affiliated with SC10 are NOT official partners - avoid problems by
using the authorized SC10 reservation site.

Get Ready Exhibitors! SCinet Connection Request System (CRS) Begins Accepting
Connection Requests August 30
The SCinet CRS is the principle method that exhibitors may use to identify, request, and manage their network connection
needs with SCinet. The CRS is the online management system that SCinet uses to accumulate requests for standard network
connections (such as 10- or 1- Gigabit Ethernet), Infiniband connections, connections to be delivered as dark fiber either
to another exhibitor booth or to a SCinet location, and Internet connections for Whisper Suites.
The SC10 Exhibits Management Company provides SCinet with a list of contacts for exhibitor organizations.
These initial contacts will receive an email with a subject line of "Invitation to request SCinet connections" on August 30th,
2010. That email contains login and password information for the CRS. If you do not know the contact for your exhibitor/
organization, please contact the SCinet Helpdesk by sending email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Connection requests may be submitted at any time beginning August 30th. For 2010, the price structure has been revised
to reflect service delivery strategies that have reduced our costs. The savings are being passed on to you. Please note
that a late fee must be charged for new connection requests after September 30th and that the CRS will close for new
connections on October 22nd.
Accepting requests to participate: Monday, August 30 - Friday, October 22 (Late fees apply after Thursday, September 30)

By popular request: Extended Deadline for Broader Engagement Participation Grants
professionals. Preference for participation grants is given to first time attendees and those new to the field who will benefit
from introductory and professional development sessions within HPC. Those not needing participation grants are
encouraged to register for the BE program via conference registration.
Deadline: August 23rd
Create a login account, and use the Broader Engagement Student App or Faculty/Professional App
Student Volunteer Applications Due August 27
Student volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss the latest high performance computing and networking
technologies and meet leading researchers from around the world while contributing to the success of SC10. Volunteers will be
expected to be available for a total of 4-5 hours of work per day during the week of the conference. No special skills or
experience are necessary for most volunteer positions; however, some familiarity with computing platforms, audio/visual
equipment, or office equipment can be helpful.
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply as volunteers to help with the administration of the conference.
In exchange, students will receive complimentary conference registration, housing (for out-of-town volunteers) and some meals.
In addition, limited support for transportation expenses (such as airfare) is available for students from groups that traditionally
have been underrepresented in HPC, such as African-Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Alaska Natives,
Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, the physically challenged and women.
Request to participate due: Monday, August 27
