Student Volunteers

The SC10 Student Volunteers program proudly recognizes the Coalition for Academic Scientific Computation for their support.

Applications now being accepted – deadline to apply is Friday, August 27. Student Volunteer application forms are available at the SC10 Submissions site.

Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply as volunteers to help with the administration of the conference. In exchange, students will receive complimentary conference registration, housing (for out-of-town volunteers) and some meals. In addition, limited support for transportation expenses (such as airfare) is available for students from groups that traditionally have been underrepresented in HPC, such as African-Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, the physically challenged and women.

Volunteers will be expected to be available for a total of 4-5 hours of work per day during the week of the conference. No special skills or experience are necessary for most volunteer positions; however, some familiarity with computing platforms, audio/visual equipment, or office equipment can be helpful.

Student volunteers will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss the latest high performance computing and networking technologies and meet leading researchers from around the world while contributing to the success of SC10.

Student Volunteer applications are due Friday, August 27, 2010. Successful applications will be notified of their acceptance by September 30, 2010.
