Developing and Waeving GPGPU technology in Computational Courses
SESSION: Developing and Waeving GPGPU technology in Computational Courses
EVENT TYPE: Birds of a Feather
TIME: 12:15PM - 1:15PM
SESSION LEADER(S):sharan kalwani
ABSTRACT: A lot of exciting developments are taking place and new challenges facing our HPC world demand that we incorporate the latest technology into our teaching courses at the College/University level offerings. We all hope that the new choices: GPGPU resources in research, industry and of course academia can use these cheaper and faster hardware via the software interface. During this 60-minute BoF, we plan to invite a panel who have started offering courses which have developed curricula using GPCPUs. The programming model is tough and everyone will hopefully discuss their experiences and hopefully lead a dialogue focused on how colleges and universities can develop 7 deliver courses for students. It is assumed that they (students) will apply this to all sorts of simulation, social non traditional, computational science/advanced computing.
The panel will share their lessons-learned, motivations, and future plans. We invite attendees from all disciplines and organizations to ask questions, make recommendations, and learn how to support their colleges and universities to implement courses. The panel will produce a report to share with the community.
