DICE Case Study: Cost Saving Through Validation

SESSION: Environments

EVENT TYPE: Exhibitor Forum

ABSTRACT:
A report from the Systems Sciences Institute at IBM states that the cost to fix an error found after product release was four to five times as much as one uncovered during design, and up to 100 times more than one identified in the maintenance phase. That raises a question; What is the true cost of correcting problems after deployment? The environment is constantly changing diverse technologies are being used in data centers that are geographically dispersed across the world and are using dissimilar architectures making realistic testing even more critical. In this Exhibitor Forum Avetec will present several case studies that validate the value of independent, third-party product and technology testing. These case studies underscore the value of third-party testing and confirm the Department of Energy’s interest and position that independent field testing and validation of performance is critical. DICE is the community’s independent third-party testing services.
