ABSTRACT: The practical usage of High Performance Computing with due consideration for environment is a key issue for leading-edge researches and business activities.
Our challenges are how to extract performance from multi-core CPU? How can user manage over hundred thousand nodes and extract performance with minimum environmental impact? Can we help user to improve their energy efficiency while sustaining productivity and efficiency?
In this context Fujitsu is developing a new Peta-scale Supercomputer targeting to exert high performance in a wide range of application area.
Fujitsu will adopt a new high performance and reliable CPU providing more flops with less power consumption, integrating Multi-core Parallel ArChiTecture and realizing highly-efficient hybrid programming environment. Our new Peta-Scale Supercomputer scaling over hundred thousand nodes also provides an innovative interconnect and a parallel file system.
These technologies are applied to Japan’s Next-Generation Supercomputer Project targeting LINPACK 10PFlops performance. Latest benchmark results of prototype will be presented.
