Software Innovations to Enable High Performance Computing
SESSION: Expanding use of HPC
EVENT TYPE: Exhibitor Forum
TIME: 11:00AM - 11:30AM
ABSTRACT: High Performance Computing users, whether in mainstream or cutting edge environments, are focused on strategically investing in an IT infrastructure to drive research, analytics, modeling or development activities. Software technologies are critical to unlocking the value of these high performance environments. HPC software must include innovations that cross heterogeneous platforms, and address parallel application development, systems and resource management, system utilization and I/O management. In this presentation, Chris Maher, IBM Vice President HPC Development, will describe the critical IBM software innovations that will enable rapid set-up and deployment of new HPC infrastructures, facilitate greater utilization of HPC infrastructure assets, optimize infrastructure for data intensive workloads, and exploit large scale systems via easier parallel programming techniques and simplified multi-platform HPC application development.
