SESSION LEADER(S):Dietmar W. Erwin, Hermann Lederer, Anni Jakobsson

ABSTRACT: PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe, has been established as an international non-profit organisation early 2010. PRACE systems form the apex of the European high performance pyramid. PRACE already granted resources and provides services to scientific projects requiring HPC capabilities exceeding those available nationally. The first PRACE system is the IBM BlueGene/P in Jülich.
The session will present the latest news about the PRACE Research Infrastructure. It covers the current status and the future plans; the results to be expected during the EC funded implementation projects, the integration of services currently provided by DEISA within the European HPC ecosystem, and collaboration opportunities for academia and industry. The agenda is:
- PRACE – The pan-European HPC Research Infrastructure
- PRACE services and access to resources
- DEISA services in the European HPC ecosystem
- Collaboration with academia and industry
