DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:ABSTRACT: This BoF, co-hosted by Educational Alliance for a Parallel Future (EAPF), a community of industry, academics, research and profesional organzations which have a stake in helping to ensure that parallel computing is integrated throught the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, and the ACM, will be focused on the challenges and opportunities created by the manycore, heterogeneous compute platforms that are now ubiquitous. =0A=0AFollowing from the successful panel discussion at SC09, we will discuss the kinds of training and retraining that will be necessary as parallel computing comes to terms with the rapid advancement of exascale computing hardware. The members of EAPF, drawn from a wide cross section of Industry, Academia and Research, will initiate BOF discussions of how to manage and plan for resources and innovations in this dynamic area.=0A=0AHow should topics such as parallel language support, hybrid multicore platforms, advanced operating systems support, advanced algorithms and algorithm design patterns be addressed within our training and educational structures? Hosted by ACM and curated by members of EAPF, a new open web portal, the Parallelism Tech Pack, intends to offer community engagement from beginning students to advanced professionals. We seek community input and participation in how best to manage, update, and maintain the usability of this resource, as well as defining the gaps in our (collective) offerings.
