DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:ABSTRACT: Brocade Virtual Cluster Switching (VCS) is a new technology platform enabling the Brocade One architecture for Data Centers. VCS has four main technology components: Ethernet Fabric, Distributed Intelligence, Logical Chassis, and Dynamic Services. VCS allows the creation of large flat layer 2 Ethernet fabrics using extremely low latency switches. The resulting Ethernet network fabric will be lossless, master-less, self forming and auto-configuring, leading to operational simplicity for scalable networks. Brocade applied its years of experience designing storage fabrics to create VCS. The VCS-based networks are inherently redundant, using all active links to maximize the performance and efficiency of 10GbE infrastructures. They are optimal for HPC workloads that run on clusters made of hundreds or thousands of compute nodes. =0A=0AIn our presentation we will explain the four components and showcase the switches that support this technology, and will explain why they will revolutionize the way HPC cluster networks are architected today.
