DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:ABSTRACT: The early part of this decade brought a technology inflection point that has already rippled dramatically through the processor and system landscape. The coming decade promises further changes that will significantly change the design and operation of HPC systems. Power efficiency, concurrency, and resiliency constraints will drive changes to the underlying processor and system architecture, and these will create major challenges for programming the systems. A careful co-design of the hardware, system software, and applications will be required to achieve our collective goal of sustained exascale computing with feasible power and acceptable productivity. This talk will provide an overview of the key challenges we are facing and Cray's perspective on how to best proceed over the coming five to ten years.
